The McCann family have been selling Musical Instruments in Tasmania for well over 100years.
James Robert McCann founded the business in 1881.
His son Bernard McCann changed the name to McCann Bros on the 21st May 1923 and was later Incorporated in to a Company on the 10th July 1952.
His son Geoffrey McCann the current owner purchased the business and changed the name to McCann's Music Centre P/L on the 27th March 1984.
After many years trading in Furniture, Electrical, Floor Coverings as well as Instruments, Geoff decided to concentrate solely on the Music business and it is today the largest Musical Instrument and Print Music store in Tasmania and may well be the oldest surviving continuous family Music store in Australia.
